Oman Sail’s Youth Sailing Programme features Optimist, ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and 29er teams.

The Optimist class serves as the vital first step into the world of competitive sailing, acting as the foundation of the Oman Sail sailing pathway. Our youth-focused program is designed to nurture young talent from a grassroots level, teaching them the fundamentals of sailing, as well as physical and mental training and maritime discipline.

The ILCA 4 team represents the next evolutionary step for sailors transitioning from youth classes to more advanced dinghy classes. This team benefits from a structured development environment that prepares them for high-level competition and the support of the Asyad Group in competitive events.

The ILCA 6 team is a cornerstone of our mid-range performance fleet, bridging the gap toward Olympic-level standards. These athletes demonstrate exceptional technical skill and physical endurance as they represent the nation across local, regional, and international regattas.

As part of our commitment to fast-paced, modern racing, the High Performance 29er Team – the newest of our High Performance teams - focuses on skiff sailing, which requires intense teamwork and agility. This team serves as a first step in a higher profile international class for sailors looking to master high-speed maneuvers.
